Ingredients
- 500g all-purpose flour
- 300ml warm water
- 10g salt
- 10g sugar
- 7g dry yeast
- A little water for glazing
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, sugar, and dry yeast. Gradually add warm water while stirring with a wooden spatula until you achieve a smooth dough.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it is elastic and smooth.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Gently deflate the dough and divide it into three equal pieces. Shape each piece into a long baguette.
- Place the shaped baguettes on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Cover them with a cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Make shallow cuts on top of each baguette using a sharp knife. Lightly spray water over them to help form a crispy crust.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until they turn golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
- Cool on a wire rack before slicing.
