- 300 g all-purpose flour
- 150 g unsalted butter
- 1 egg
- 60 ml cold water
- 1 pinch of salt
- 500 g minced meat (beef or lamb)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by mixing flour and salt in a bowl. Incorporate cold butter until crumbly. Add egg and cold water gradually to form a smooth dough. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
- For the filling, sauté onion and carrots in olive oil until tender. Add minced meat and cook until browned. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper.
- Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F). Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 5mm thick. Cut circles to line tart molds and fill with the meat mixture.
- Cover with another circle of dough, seal edges with a fork, cut slits on top for steam venting, then bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
