Quick Beef Samosas: Delicious and Easy!

This quick beef samosa recipe offers a simplified yet flavorful take on a classic dish. Enjoy crispy triangles filled with juicy, spiced beef in less than 30 minutes!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 300 g Ground beef (15% fat)
  • 1 Onion (sliced)
  • 1 Clove of garlic (crushed)
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 0.5 tsp Paprika or turmeric
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Parsley or coriander (chopped)
  • 8 Brick pastry sheets
  • 1 tbsp Neutral oil

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat 1 tablespoon of neutral oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and crushed garlic. Sauté for about 2 minutes until the onion becomes translucent and the garlic releases its aroma. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as it can turn bitter.
  2. Add the ground beef to the pan with the onion and garlic. Incorporate the cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 10 minutes, stirring regularly. The meat should be well cooked and slightly browned. Ensure that the mixture does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
  3. Once the meat is cooked, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the chopped parsley or coriander. Mix well and let the filling cool for a few minutes. This will prevent the brick pastry sheets from burning during folding.
  4. While the filling cools, prepare the brick pastry sheets. Cut them into 6 cm wide strips. This will give you perfect strips to form your samosas.
  5. On each strip of brick pastry, place a spoonful of filling at one end. Fold the sheet into a triangle over the filling, then continue folding in a triangle shape until you reach the end of the strip. Make sure to seal the samosa well. Use a little water or a mixture of water and flour to stick the last fold.
  6. Preheat your oven to 200 °C. Arrange the samosas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush each samosa with a little oil to give them a nice golden color during baking.
  7. Bake the samosas for about 15 minutes, or until they are golden and crispy. Keep a close eye on them to prevent burning.
  8. If you prefer pan-frying, heat oil over medium heat and cook the samosas for 3 minutes on each side until they are well browned. Turn them gently to avoid tearing.

Nutrition

Keywords: Do not overload the samosas with too much filling; this could make folding difficult and increase the risk of them opening during cooking. Use a brush to apply oil to the samosas for even cooking and optimal crispiness without excess fat.
