  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 1 cup chickpeas (cooked)
  • 1 cup lentils (cooked)
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 200g meat (lamb or beef) – optional
  • Fresh parsley
  • Lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients by washing and chopping the onion, celery, and tomatoes.
  2. In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onion and celery until translucent.
  3. Add chopped tomatoes, cumin, cinnamon, and paprika; cook for about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in chickpeas, lentils, and 2 liters of water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
  5. If using meat, add it now and continue cooking for another 30 minutes until tender.
  6. For a creamier texture, blend partially with an immersion blender while leaving some chunks.
  7. Serve hot with fresh parsley and lemon wedges on the side.
